Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PA | Macarena | For your resilience and perseverance, as you have shown incredible determination by working hard on your drawings and illustrations during our writing lessons. You always try your best and a little bit more by persisting even when drawing feels a little bit tricky. Beyond your hard work, you consistently use kind words with your classmates and are always so quick to follow instructions. Well done Macarena, we are so lucky to have you in our school community! |
PN | Syra | For being a motivated learner who always finds the joy of learning. Your positive, motivated attitude is shown when you listen carefully, stay focused during lessons, begin your work straight away and do your best and a bit more. You work kindly with others and always approach your learning with a smile. We are so proud of you. Great job Syra! |
1M | Olivia | For being a motivated learner, every single day! You come to school ready to learn. You are so quick to put your hand up to ask and answer questions. You help others to learn by showing them what to do if they need a bit of help. We love having you in our class, keep doing your best and a little bit more!’. Well done Olivia! |
2E | Heidi | For showing a positive and motivated attitude towards learning. You listen carefully, stay focused during lessons, and begin your work straight away. You put great effort into your home learning and spelling, and it really shows. You confidently share your culture with others and are always kind and helpful to your classmates and teachers. 2A | Tejasbir | For being a collaborative learner this term. You have supported the new students in the classroom to make sure they feel settled and welcome. You also worked together with a partner to create an insightful think board about our reading book ‘Voices in the Park’. Well done Tejas! You are a star in 2A. |
3/4LM | Eva | For being a curious learner with an inquisitive attitude toward learning. You eagerly wonder, explore, ask questions, and try new or challenging ideas. You actively take charge of your own growth, motivating others around you. We love how you are open-minded and reflective and embrace opportunities to go further. We are loving your enthusiasm as we read Matilda and can’t wait to read your own narrative. |
3/4K | Shiloh | For being a motivated learner in class this week. You have been setting the standard for how our behaviour routines should be followed, so we can all do our best learning. Your focus and effort sets an excellent example for your classmates, and helps create a calmer, more effective learning environment for everyone. You are a routine rockstar Shiloh! |
3/4S | Ashi | This award recognises a student who consistently shows kindness and compassion to everyone around her. Her calm and caring presence makes our classroom a safe and welcoming space, and it’s no surprise that other students naturally gravitate towards her for help and guidance.
Through her thoughtful words and positive actions, she leads by example every single day. She demonstrates what it truly means to be a respectful, supportive, and responsible member of our community.

5M | Darren | For being a collaborative learner, Darren, you have shown genuine kindness and teamwork in our classroom. You consistently support your classmates in a quiet and patient way, especially when helping them with their spelling. Your willingness to step in and guide others has made our learning environment more positive and inclusive. The way you look out for your peers shows maturity, generosity, and a big heart. 5A | Vabietha | For being a motivated learner. This student has shown great focus and effort in Literacy, engaging actively with our class text War Horse, participating thoughtfully in group reading, and improving his writing by expanding sentences with adverbs and appositives. He sets a strong example for others by concentrating on his work. Keep driving your learning—great work, Vabietha! |
