Ramadhan Mubarak– A Month of Reflection, Compassion and Community

As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadhan 2026, we extend our warm wishes to all members of the College community observing this special time. May this month bring peace, reflection, and spiritual growth to all who observe it.

This year, Ramadhan begins around the evening of Thursday 19th February or Friday 20th February (moon dependent) and will continue for 29–30 days, concluding with the sighting of the next crescent moon. Ramadhan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is a sacred time for millions of Muslims worldwide. It is observed through fasting (sawm), prayer, charity, gratitude, and community connection.

During Ramadhan, healthy adult Muslims fast each day from dawn until sunset. Fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink, it is a time for strengthening faith, developing self-discipline, increasing generosity, and nurturing empathy for those in need. Evenings are often filled with family gatherings, community iftars, and additional prayers.

At the College, many of our Muslim students come from diverse backgrounds including Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Albania, Malaysia, and more. We recognise that Ramadhan is a deeply meaningful time for these students and their families. Throughout the month, some students may experience changes in energy levels or routines due to fasting and nightly prayers. Ramadhan also encourages acts of kindness, charity, and service to others, values that strongly align with our school’s commitment to inclusion, respect, and community wellbeing.

To all our Muslim students, families, and staff, we wish you a blessed and peaceful Ramadhan. May this month be filled with reflection, unity, compassion, and personal growth.
