Term 2 Week 2
Muffins with Mum and Mother's Day Mass
What a wonderful opportunity we had last Friday to celebrate Mother's Day with our whole school community. Thank you to all the mothers, grandmothers, friends and families for braving the cooler morning to have a Muffin with Mum. Thank you to our Admin Team for their catering, to Mrs O'Sullivan for the photo booth, and to our teachers and students for their support. Most of all, thank you to our mothers, grandmothers, and special friends for joining us—it was a fantastic morning!
Following our Muffins with Mum, we were delighted that so many of our Mothers were able to join us for Mass in the Undercroft at school. Thank you to all our students who were involved in altar serving and reading, and a special thank you to Fr. McHugh and Deacon Allem for celebrating Mass for us.
To cap off our Mother's Day celebrations last Friday, we had our annual Mother's Day Stall in the Auditorium for our students. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the P&F for running this stall! It ran like a well-oiled machine, and I'm sure our mums loved the beautiful gifts they received on Sunday!
Celebrating Our Commitment to Learning
I want to extend a sincere thank you to all our parents and students for the fantastic start we have made to the year regarding school attendance. Currently, St Nicholas boasts an attendance rate of 93% and an attendance level of 78%. These figures are a testament to the dedication of our families in prioritising education.
Regular attendance is vital. When students are present every day, they are not only keeping up with their learning, but are also building the social connections and routines that allow them to truly thrive. When we “show up,” good things happen.
Parent Reading Night
Thank you to our Kindergarten parents who were able to attend our Parent Reading Night last night. We hope that you found the night worthwhile, and we value your willingness to be involved in your child's education. We want every child at St Nicholas to feel success in their reading, and we hope you feel better equipped to help support their reading at home. If you were unable to attend last night, the presentation slides have been posted on the Compass Portal for you to view.
Have a wonderful week,
Peter Flynn
