Principal's Report

Dear families,
This week has been a very busy one for some of our students who completed their second rite of Reconciliation on Wednesday nigh and will receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation tomorrow evening. A very special time for some students.
ENROLMENTS
A huge thank you to all new and existing families who would like their child to attend Foundation next year for completing their enrolment application and information documentation. Our enrolment period closes today (in line with all CESL schools in Bendigo). From here, we will work through the applications before sending letters of acceptance by June 5. Parents will then have until 19 June to accept or decline the offer for enrolment. Once again, these dates align with all Bendigo Catholic Education Sandhurst schools.
LAUDATO SI
This week, we celebrated Laudato Si week by exploring how we can care for our common home through simple, meaningful actions. Throughout the week, we enjoyed a rubbish‑free lunch competition, mindful colouring, leaf rubbings, chalk art, wearing green (with a gold‑coin donation for Caritas), and we finished the week by walking or riding to school as families today.
BUILDING PROJECT
Our building project is looking fantastic. The concrete slab is going to be poured tomorrow so the space will look vastly different come Monday morning.
DIVISIONAL CROSS COUNTRY
Today, many of our students represented Holy Rosary at the Divisional Cross Country. At the time of writing this, I do not have any results, but we wish all participant the very best and are very proud of their efforts. Thanks, Mr Coates, for planning the event.
PUPIL FREE DAYS
We have two of our allotted pupil free days coming up over the next couple of weeks. Wednesday next week (27th May), our staff have professional learning off-site as our network is being upgraded. The following Friday (5th June) our entire staff have a CESL-facilitated Student Wellbeing and Safeguarding professional learning day.
RECONCILIATION WEEK
Our classes will recognise Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day next week by integrating inclusive education through learning experiences to build understanding, respect, and a shared commitment to reconciliation.
CATHOLIC SCHOOL PARENTS VICTORIA
Catholic School Parents Victoria (CSPV) has launched a new website (link below) which is a great resource for parents. CSPV supports families as partners in their child’s learning by strengthening home/school connections and providing clear information, guidance, and advocacy so parents feel informed, empowered, and engaged in their child’s school journey. Please feel free to visit their new website at https://cspv.catholic.edu.au/ or visit their Facebook page.
