Dear Parents
Wishing all our families a warm welcome back to term 4!
I hope your break was restful and you were able to spend some quality time together with family in the sunshine.
October - Month of the Holy Rosary
October is celebrated in the Catholic church as the month of the holy Rosary, a powerful prayer loved by saints. When our Blessed Mother appeared at Fatima she identified herself as Our Lady of the Rosary, and urged us to pray the rosary daily for world peace.
It has been a pleasure to see so many joyful children take up the invitation to pray a decade of the rosary on Friday mornings before school! All are welcome to join us in the church at 8:30am, rosaries are provided. For a short video of Bishop Barron explaining how to pray the rosary, click here.
Faith and Family Afternoon
Thank you to the families of K-2 who have joined us for our faith and family afternoons, inspired by the first millennial saint, St Carlo Acutis.
Parents and carers are invited to join us in their child’s classroom as we continue with our Faith and Family afternoons in the coming weeks,
Year 3 Thursday October 30 at 2:15pm
Year 4 Thursday November 6 at 2:15pm
Year 5 Thursday November 13 at 2:15pm
Year 6 Thursday November 20 at 2:15pm
All Souls Day
All Souls day is a day set aside for honouring those who have died, to assist their souls on their journey toward God.
On Monday November 3rd, we will hold a prayer service and candlelight procession to remember our loved ones who have gone before us. Please join us from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
The novena for the holy souls, prayed on the nine days leading up to All Souls Day, begins this Friday October 24. A link to this prayer here
Playgroup
Our Playgroup continues on Thursday mornings, from 9-10:30 in the school hall. I look forward to welcoming all preschool aged children, together with their parents, grandparents and carers for a morning of play, craft and story time.
Advent Retreat
The joyful and engaging Sisters of Life are holding a retreat at St Joachim’s Lidcombe on Saturday November 29. It’s a wonderful opportunity to pause from the busy lives and prepare for Advent. Tickets are limited, available here.
