Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Mission, Vision and Values

What a joyous occasion we shared on Wednesday with the unveiling of our new Mission, Vision, and Values! It was truly delightful to see our children, staff, parish, and parent community gathered together to celebrate this significant milestone in the history of St Francis Xavier.

We are especially grateful to Father Richard for blessing us during the prayer service, and to Sr Kari, Leone, Therese, and Judith for their meaningful contributions. Our community is richer for their presence among us.

Congratulations to our choir for their beautiful rendition of Gentle Woman, and sincere thanks to the Leadership Team for their expert organisation as always. A special mention also goes to our Student Representatives, who have worked so diligently over recent weeks I am proud of each and every one of them.

As the term progresses, our children will learn more about our new values Compassion, Excellence, Respect, Service, and Stewardship through character strength lessons designed to bring these virtues to life in age-appropriate and practical ways.

Education Coordinator during 2026, whilst Mrs Barbera takes her maternity leave of absence.

We also share that Mrs Hamka has made the decision to return to casual teaching next year. Sarah has taught across many grades since joining us in 2021 during the second COVID lockdown, and we are deeply grateful for her dedicated service. We look forward to continuing to see her around the school in a casual capacity in 2026.

Mrs Armstrong will be taking Long Service Leave for the 2026 academic year. Vicki’s contribution to SFX has been enormous, and we wish her every blessing as she enjoys this well-deserved break. I will be advertising for a Visual Arts Teacher today.

Next Tuesday, 28 October, we will celebrate World Teachers’ Day with an assembly at 8:50 am. I have also shared a link to the NESA “Teachers Gem” campaign — please take a moment to view and share this with your children. It’s a lovely way to reflect on the special impact teachers have on our lives.

Parents & Friends Final Meeting of the Year

Monday 28th October at 7 pm in the Library

We warmly invite all parents to our final P&F Meeting for 2025.

During the evening:

  • I will share our plans for 2026
  • Mrs Scullion will present parent survey results from Term 3
  • Mr Criniti will showcase his work in leading the implementation of the new English syllabus over the past two years
