Showdown!
It has been at least 12 months in the making, and the big moment has finally arrived! Tonight, we will see the Gardenvale Primary School production of Showdown! come to life on the big stage.
We wish our wonderful cast, along with all the staff and parents who have worked so hard behind the scenes, the very best for a successful and enjoyable performance. We hope our students have an exhilarating time performing on stage and that this special experience will be one they remember for many years to come!
Thank You
What a lovely morning it was at Gardenvale PS on Friday 4th September as we celebrated Father’s Day! The event was very well supported, with a large contingent of Gardenvale dads, mums, grandparents and special friends joining us.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to come along and share this special morning with our students. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the occasion together.
This special event would not have been possible without the tremendous work of the Year 4 parent organising team. A very big thank you Robyn Krawitz, Lina Papalia and Deb Leibhaber for their brilliant coordination of the event, and to all the parents who chipped in and helped out on the morning.
We would also like to thank Oren and Greg for organising the lunchtime event for Gardenvale Dads, which I hear was another successful and fun occasion!
Footy Day
Footy Day will be held on the last day of Term 3, this Friday, 18th September. Students are invited to dress in their favourite footy gear or in their sports team colours.
Students will participate in a range of AFL football skills activities at the beginning of the school day. If any parents are available to help with the footy skills rotations for approximately one hour, please email the school at gardenvale.ps@education.vic.gov.au and indicate which campus you would like to volunteer at. Please ensure you have a current WWCC and the Volunteer Agreement Form is completed.
After recess, the whole school will come together at the Senior Campus for our Footy Day Assembly, where we will sing the songs of all the clubs. The assembly will commence at 11.15am, and parents are very welcome to attend.
Hats! Hats! Hats!
We ask all students to find their hats; make sure they are clearly named and bring them to school each day to wear when they are playing or outdoors.
Gardenvale Primary School is a SunSmart school, and we have a policy in place to protect our students and staff from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation.
From the beginning of September, hats are required to be worn when students are outside through until the end of April next year.
We hope all our families who celebrated Rosh Hashanah last weekend had a very happy and meaningful time, enjoying the special festivities and traditions of the occasion.
Finally, we hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break from the school routine and has a relaxing holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for a wonderful Term 4 on Monday 5th October.
