Get involved!

Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are many ways to get involved and be part of our vibrant community. Below you’ll find opportunities to join in, contribute and help shape the experiences that make our school special.

  • Trivia Night

  • Plus, a variety of subcommittee activities throughout the year!

Volunteer for Girton's Second-Hand Uniform Shop!

The Second-Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS) is a volunteer-run service located in Girton House on the Junior School Campus. We stock pre-loved uniforms for both Junior and Senior students. The SHUS opens Tuesdays and Fridays during the school term from 8:15–9:00am.

Girton Parents and Friends (Senior School GPF) and Friends of Junior School (FOJS) are looking for some helping hands to volunteer. The Uniform Shop is very simple to run, and I'm happy to facilitate a training session for anyone interested in helping out.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to:

  • Meet new (and familiar!) faces
  • Connect with other families in our school community
  • Help families access quality second-hand clothing

Even a short amount of time makes a big difference, and we’d love to see you there. Click below to sign up or don't hesitate to call me on 0433 455 376.

We can’t wait to see you at the SHUS!

President Girton FOJS

Donations needed: Bread, sausages, halal sausages, sauces, serviettes and soft drink

Girton Community Action Group (GCAG) is a team of young people passionate about service, compassion, and making a meaningful impact in our school and community.

Throughout the year, GCAG supports a range of important causes, including RUOK? Day & Mental Health Week, refugee support within Bendigo, Harmony Day, National Sorry Day, White Ribbon Day and Homelessness and Share the Dignity initiatives, and much more.

How families can help

Throughout the year we'll be seeking donations to support various GCAG initiatives. First up is National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week from 26 May 26 to 3 June. We have several activities planned, including a community sausage sizzle. All proceeds raised go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

If you’re able to donate bread, sausages, halal sausages, sauces, serviettes or soft drink, we would be incredibly grateful. Please get in touch with Mrs Melinda Naughton if you can assist.
