Student Futures

Planning for tomorrow: Careers and VCE pathways at Girton
At Girton, preparing students for meaningful futures begins well before Year 11. Guided by our mission to educate and empower young people to achieve and flourish in their aspirations for life, our Student Futures program is designed to support each young person in discovering their strengths, values and aspirations, whether their pathway leads through the VCE, a vocational option or another post‑school direction entirely.
Last year, we introduced the Year 9 Career Values Profile, a session designed to help students identify what they value most in future work and learning. This early reflection lays the groundwork for more informed choices as they progress.
In Year 10, students participate in an intensive Year 10 Career Profiling process, providing personalised insights that guide their selection of VCE subjects and help them make confident, future‑focused decisions. Parents and Carers are invited to meet with their child and our Head of Student Futures, Mr Dean Langley and Mr Jarrod Wiese to discuss their results.
To keep families connected with all aspects of post‑school planning, we are excited to introduce a new Student Futures section in eLink. Each edition will highlight key programs, opportunities and timelines relevant to careers and pathways at Girton.
For comprehensive information about VCE and post-school planning at any time, families are encouraged to visit the Careers page on Astra, as well as our dedicated Careers website: GirtonGrammarCareers.com
