On Thursday 30th July, our Year 3–6 students travelled to Mentone Athletics Track to take part in the 2026 Kingswood Primary School Athletics Carnival. It was a fantastic day filled with enthusiasm, determination, sportsmanship and plenty of memorable performances.
Throughout the day, students competed in a range of track events, including the 100m, 200m, hurdles, 800m, 1500m, and the exciting 4 × 100m class relays. It was wonderful to see students of all abilities challenge themselves, strive for personal bests, and encourage their classmates both on and off the track. The positive atmosphere and support shown towards one another truly reflected the wonderful spirit of our Kingswood community.
A huge congratulations to every student who participated in the carnival. Whether you were aiming to qualify for District Athletics, trying a new event, or simply giving your best effort, you should all be incredibly proud of your achievements. Your resilience, determination and willingness to challenge yourselves made the day such a success.
I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our parents and carers who came along to support our students throughout the day. Your encouragement from the sidelines helped create a fantastic atmosphere for our young athletes. A very special thank you also goes to the many parent helpers who generously volunteered their time to assist with student supervision and ensure the carnival ran smoothly. Your support is greatly appreciated and plays a vital role in making events like this possible.
Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to seeing many of our students represent Kingswood Primary School at the upcoming District Athletics Carnival which will be held in September.
