Creative Writing Updates
Throughout Term 2, we had a range of creative writing opportunities available to students across the school. We have some exciting updates to share!
National Young Author’s Fair:
We had four students draft and publish a story for the National Young Author’s Fair. These stories are now live for everyone to view and purchase a hard copy! These will be delivered later in the year.
Another exciting part of the NYAF is keeping an eye on the ‘Best Seller League’, which highlights the top 50 books sold Australia wide. What a fantastic result to have so many Teesdale PS students sitting in the top 50!
Golden Pens Writing Workshop:
Earlier in Term 2, myself and three senior students travelled to Shelford PS for a writing workshop, hosted by The Golden Pens. Part of that experience was being invited to create a short story based on the Golden Plains Shire. Excitingly, The Golden Pens group has selected all four short stories from Teesdale students to publish in their printed anthology book! What a huge achievement for these students to become published authors in Primary School! Congratulations to Max, Ayla Johnston, Sophie Bavin and Alexie Marshall. Check out their short stories based in the Golden Plains Shire below!
Finally, don’t forget to check out all about our Book Fair! This is the first Book Fair we have hosted at Teesdale Primary School in recent history. Remember, it’s for ONE DAY ONLY so don’t miss out!
Happy learning,
Mrs Martin
