BOOK WEEK - 2026
GRADE 6 NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Grade 6 Netballers had a fantastic day yesterday at the Netball Victoria School Championships in Bendigo!
The team played with determination, passion, and great teamwork throughout the day, taking on some very strong competition.
They finished with 2 wins from their 6 games and should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way they represented Sacred Heart.
A big thank you to Jorja for coaching, Ebony for helping with umpiring, and to all the parents and friends who joined us on the day to support the team.
Athletics Day Friday 4th September
Athletics Day – Friday 4 September
Please find attached the timetable and map for the Athletics Day on Friday 4 September.
Students have been practising all events during their PE lessons, refining their skills and techniques in preparation for the day. Athletics Day is a great introduction to athletics for Foundation–Year 2 students and valuable preparation for Year 3–6 students before they compete at the Interschool Athletics Carnival on Thursday 10 September against Tatura Primary and Toolamba.
Important Information
- Every effort will be made to keep to the timetable; however, event times are approximate and may change throughout the day.
- Students are asked to wear a coloured top representing their House Colour.
- The day will begin with the traditional Marching Parade in the quad at 9:05am, before students move to the oval for a short briefing and warm-up.
- Sprints will be the first event; this is the only whole school event before splitting off into the other events. Families are welcome to watch from the cricket pitch side. Depending on numbers, sprint heats may be required before the finals.
- All Foundation students will receive a participation ribbon after the first event to celebrate their efforts. Remaining Foundation events will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons.
- This year for the first time, students in Years 3–6 will have the opportunity to compete for a Year Level Champion award. Points and results from all the events throughout the day will determine the Year Level Champion medal winners for both boys and girls.
- High Jump has already been completed during PE lessons to allow adequate time for safe participation. Results and points from this event will still count towards the Year Level Champion awards.
- House Relay Teams (Years 3–6) will be selected before Athletics Day. The teams will be made up of 4 students and 2 emergencies.
- Foundation students will take part in the Bean Bag Shuffle after second break, which they will practise during PE lessons.
- The Good Sports Raffle returns this year with 25 fantastic prizes. Staff will award raffle tickets throughout the day to students demonstrating community, respect, encouragement and putting in their best efforts.
Parents & Friends
We warmly welcome parents and friends to attend Athletics Day.
If you are following a group throughout the day, if you are able too, please check in with the event leader to see if you can lend a hand.
Whether it's measuring, raking the pit, collecting equipment or helping with small jobs, your assistance is always greatly appreciated.
At the conclusion of the day, we will present the Overall House Trophy, PBIS Trophy, Marching Trophy, Year Level Champion medals, and draw the Good Sports Raffle.
We look forward to a fantastic day filled with fun, fitness, community spirit and students giving their very best!
