Get ready for Kilvington's Market Day on Tuesday 20 October in Dalton Hall! Our Year 10 and 11 Business students have been busy planning 19 exciting stalls featuring festive gifts, jewellery, slime, games, raffles, delicious treats and an online auction! Want a sneak peek at what's on offer? Explore the Year 11 stalls on our student-created Market Day website. With most items priced between $1 and $5, there's something for everyone! Best of all, all proceeds support Eat Up, providing lunches to Australian children in need.

Cash is preferred, with card-payment tokens available at recess and lunchtime on the day. Food stalls are for Senior School students only. Market is for students in Grade 2 and up.

Please come and support our Market Day on Tuesday 20th October at lunchtime.

Staffing Update

As we approach the end of the year, we will farewell several valued members of staff who are moving on to new chapters. Our School Chaplain, Janet Woodlock, will retire after seven years at Kilvington. Looking ahead, Janet plans to travel and explore new projects. We are grateful for the care and compassion Janet has brought to our school community and wish her all the very best for the future.

After four years at Kilvington, Head of English Sonia Murr will also be moving on. We thank Sonia for her valued contribution to the English department and wish her every success in her next role.

We also say goodbye to Junior School STEM and Digital Technologies Teacher Celestine Yeung, who has been with Kilvington for six years. During that time, Celestine has played an important role in revitalising the Junior School STEM curriculum. As Celestine and family move away from the area, we wish her well for the future.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to announcing some exciting appointments for 2027.

PFA AGM

The PFA will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 11 November from 7.00pm to 7.30pm in the Sport Centre (1SC5), immediately before the Volunteer Thank You Evening. As all parents are members of the PFA, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

At the AGM, we will appoint all the Executive Committee positions for 2027. These are the roles of President, Junior and Senior School Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer. Our current Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurers intend to stand for election again, but nominations for all positions are welcome. We strongly encourage role sharing of Executive positions. We know time is tight for everyone and sharing the role is a great way to contribute to the School, meet other people and be part of your students’ educational experience.

In particular, we are looking for someone, or a group of people, to take on the role of President, an essential leadership role that encourages meaningful participation of parents in our school community. Our current amazing President, Nadine Power, is stepping down at the end of this year, so we need to find someone to continue her great work and lead the PFA.

We invite nominations for all positions in writing to pfa@kilvington.vic.edu.au by Friday 6 November 2027. Nominations must be made by another PFA member rather than by self-nomination. But remember, all Kilvington parents are members of the PFA! If you would like to know more about any role, please feel free to contact Community Relations Officer, Bianca Lapins, via lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au for a chat.

Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the Kilvington community? Nominations are now open for the Judy Allen Award 2026, which recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional service to the School over five years or more. Named in honour of the inspirational Judy Allen (née Southouse, Class of 1974), whose many roles at Kilvington have included student, parent, staff member, Board member and Life Governor, the award celebrates the dedication, generosity and community spirit that makes Kilvington so special. The recipient will be recognised at Celebration Night, receive a framed certificate and have their name added to the Honour Board in Dalton Hall.

Know someone deserving? We encourage you to put their name forward by completing this Judy Allen Award Nomination Form.

If you have any questions, please contact Community Relations Officer Bianca Lapins at lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au. Nominations close on Sunday 25 October 2026.

Secondhand Uniform Donation Bins Now Open

Gallery Image

The PFA have installed two new bins at the back of Main Reception near the Junior School corridor, to collect donations of good quality secondhand uniform items. Please feel free to visit these before, during and after school hours.

These bins will also accept uniform items being retired from 2027 including the girl’s blazer (plain navy with magenta piping), the striped winter tunic and the striped winter skirt. We are delighted that these items will be used by our new partner, the Katalyst Foundation, an Australian charitable foundation that helps disadvantaged communities in rural and remote Fiji. All donated retiring uniforms will be collated and used within these communities, giving them a new life and sparing them from landfill.

The current striped blazers, plain navy winter skirt and plain navy tunic will be accepted for consignment sale, in addition to the summer dresses. Please bring your items to the secondhand uniform shop (SHUS) during shop openings or contact SHUS@kilvington.vic.edu.au for alternative times. The SHUS will be happy to help!

The remaining SHUS openings for 2026 are:

  • Saturday 7 November from 9am to 11am
  • Saturday 5 December from 10am to 12pm.

Unpickers needed! 🧵

As we reach the end of the year, we are expecting a pile of blazers to be donated that will need their logos removed before we can recycle them, and we’d love some volunteers to help! If you find unpicking therapeutic or meditative, this could be the perfect little job to do while watching TV! The team have trialled it and it takes around 5 minutes per blazer. Please reach out to SHUS@kilvington.vic.edu.au if you can help! 😊We are happy to drop some blazers to you.
