World Mental Health Day – Pyjama Friday

Dear Families,

This Friday 9th of October we are recognising ‘World Mental Health Day’.

The theme for 2026, set by the World Health Organisation is "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change".

In our country, Mental Health Australia have a focus titled "Together We Thrive"

The main point of the day is to highlight the importance of listening to people with lived experience of mental health conditions. This helps create better policies, care systems, and workplace support. It supports the World Health Organisation’s initiative on deinstitutionalisation and community care. You can fine more information here.

At Ocean Grove Primary School, we are celebrating World Mental Health Day through our wellbeing program. We continue to promote proactive wellbeing by teaching wellbeing strategies in the classroom and incorporating these into our academic lessons.

Since sleep is an important part of mental health and wellbeing, everyone is invited to wear pyjamas to school on Friday.
