Principal Message

WELCOME BACK EVERYONE
Welcome to Term 4! I hope everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break and had the opportunity to relax, recharge and spend time with family and friends. We are looking forward to another busy and exciting term filled with learning, opportunities and wonderful experiences for our students. Term 4 is always a special time in our school calendar as we celebrate the achievements and growth of our students while preparing for the year ahead. As we enter the final term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for the ongoing support, commitment and positive contribution you make to our school community.
SCHOOL CALENDAR
As we move through Term 4, please keep an eye on the ‘soon to be released’ 2027 school calendar in the newsletter and the important dates that will be communicated to families. In alignment with the proposed Victorian Government School’s Agreement, the 2027 student free days will include four Professional Practice Days, three Curriculum Days and one Assessment and Reporting Day. These days provide our staff with valuable opportunities to undertake professional learning, collaborate, plan and analyse student learning and assessment data to ensure we continue to provide high-quality teaching and learning programs for every student. Further information regarding dates and arrangements will be shared with families as planning is finalised.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
This Friday will provide an important opportunity to reflect on the importance of mental health and wellbeing for everyone in our community. At school, we continue to place a strong emphasis on supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of our students and staff. Creating a safe, connected and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported is an important part of our work every day. World Mental Health Day (Saturday 10th October) is a wonderful reminder that small acts of kindness, connection and checking in with others can make a meaningful difference. We encourage our students to look out for one another and to remember that it is always okay to ask for help when they need it.
BUSY HOLIDAY PERIOD
There has been plenty happening around our school during the holiday break, with a range of facilities and grounds works undertaken to continue improving our learning environment.
Some of the works completed or underway include:
- Tree works across the school grounds to maintain the safety and health of our trees.
- Renovations have commenced in the old canteen, giving the space a new lease of life whilst creating further opportunities for our school.
- Installation of synthetic turf near the bike rack, improving the area and creating a more functional and attractive space.
- Our annual termite inspection to ensure the school remains well maintained and protected.
- Roof and gutter cleaning across the school.
- Installation of a new fence at the bottom basketball court.
Installation of new fencing behind the gym, in preparation for the development of a new bike rack area.
We are very grateful to everyone who has worked across the holidays to complete these projects and continue to improve our school facilities. These improvements are an important investment in creating safe, welcoming and engaging spaces for our students and wider school community.
HATS ARE BACK
With the warmer weather upon us, a reminder that hats are required for all students during Term 4 as part of our SunSmart practices. Please ensure your child brings their school hat each day. Applying sunscreen before school and encouraging students to seek shade, particularly during outdoor activities, are also important ways we can work together to protect our children from the sun. Thank you to our families for your continued support in helping us maintain healthy and safe practices across our school.
FOUNDATION SPELLING BEE
Next Tuesday is the day. Best of luck to all competitors!
CONCERT
Don’t forget next Friday the Junior Concert (9:15am – 11:00am) and the Senior Concert (11:45am – 1:30pm) will be conducted in the gymnasium. Wishing our students all the very best for a fun day ahead!
We look forward to a wonderful Term 4 and to celebrating all that our students, staff and families will achieve together as we bring another successful school year to a close.
Have a fabulous week!
