Netball News - Thursday Rep Sport
It has been a successful season to date for our College netball teams. We have seen consistent results for both our Junior and Intermediate Thursday rep teams.
Our Intermediate team is sitting first in our pool and is currently undefeated as we edge closer to the semi finals. Our Junior team is currently placed third after a loss to Bede in a tightly contested pool. They will require strong results in the remaining games if they are to make it through to the Semi with only the top two teams progressing to the finals.
We wish them well for their remaining games and hope to see both teams competing in the Final series later in the term.
We also like to thank our students who give up their own sport and study periods to take up official roles to assist with the running of rep sport. Our rep sport would be unable to run without the assistance of students who turn up on a weekly basis to umpire and adopt official duties to ensure the smooth running of our competitions. Thank you to Alannah Y, Gwen G and Matilda C for their service.
If your daughter is a badged umpire and interested in service opportunities to attend carnivals or rep sport to umpire she is invited to email Mrs Hodges to indicate her willingness to do so.
PDSSSC Netball Gala Day
Last Friday saw all three netball teams compete in the PDSSSC Gala Day and was a very successful day for our College.
Our Junior and Intermediate teams were both victorious taking out the competition to be crowned champions. Our seniors should also be very proud of their results, experiencing their only loss of the day going down in the Grand Final to Catherine McAuley.
This was the first carnival of the year for our senior team and their first time on court playing together, to achieve this impressive result.
Our Junior and Intermediate teams continue to strengthen and their determination and commitment on court is a contributing factor to their success.
We would also like to acknowledge Charlotte B, Charlotte S and Charlie L for carrying out umpiring duties so our three teams could compete in the gala day.
We wish our Netball teams the best of luck when they compete at the NSWCCC Carnival in week 5.
