Principal's Report

As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff and families for the many ways you have contributed to a positive and successful year at our school. The final weeks of the year are always a time for reflection, celebration and gratitude, and there is much to be proud of. 

Throughout the year, our students have demonstrated resilience, curiosity and kindness. They have engaged enthusiastically in their learning, supported one another and embraced new challenges both in and beyond the classroom. From classroom achievements to sporting events, chess competitions, excursions and leadership opportunities, our students have continued to grow academically, socially and emotionally. We are incredibly proud of the progress they have made and the values they show each day.

We will be sadly farewelling our wonderful Year 6 students as they complete their primary schooling at CGPS and prepare to begin their secondary school journeys. We are incredibly proud of each of them and know they are heading off to great things. We wish them every success as they take with them the values, friendships and memories formed at CGPS into the future.

We also farewell a number of valued CGPS staff members who have made significant and lasting contributions to our school community. We thank them sincerely for their dedication and commitment, and we wish them all the very best for the next stage of their professional journeys. We look forward to hearing about the positive impact they will undoubtedly continue to have in other communities. Olivia will also be taking time away from CGPS next year to travel; however, we are pleased that she will be with us in Term One, covering Joel’s class while he takes Long Service Leave.

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome new staff members to CGPS in 2026. We are delighted to be continuing to build a strong and dynamic team to maintain the positive momentum across our school. In particular, we look forward to welcoming new teachers, including Helga and Kieron, who will be joining our outstanding teaching team in Year One and Year Four respectively.

I would like to sincerely acknowledge and extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, who consistently go above and beyond to provide high-quality learning experiences and a safe, inclusive environment for every child. Their professionalism, care and commitment are at the heart of our school’s success. I also thank our families for your ongoing partnership, trust and support. Your engagement, encouragement and collaboration make a significant difference to student learning and wellbeing. We cannot wait to take it to the next level in 2026.

The year ahead brings exciting opportunities as we continue to strengthen teaching and learning, wellbeing and community connections across our school. I wish everyone a safe, restful and joyful holiday break. May it be a time to relax, recharge and spend time with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming our students and families back in the new year, refreshed and ready for another wonderful year of learning.
