From the Principal's Desk

Fasting During the Lenten Season (begins on Wednesday, February 18th)
During the Lenten Season let's pause and reflect on the words of Pope Francis:
Let us pray that we embrace the opportunity to:
Fast from hurting words and say kind words.
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.
Fast from anger and be filled with patience.
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope.
Fast from worries and have trust in God.
Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.
Fast from pressures and be prayerful.
Fast from bitterness and fill our hearts with joy.
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
Fast from grudges and be reconciled.
Fast from words and be silent so we can listen.
We pray that our only desire and our one choice is what better leads to the deepening of God's life in us.
We ask the Lord to guide our decisions today and to bless us with His peace, His joy, His love.
Amen
Celebrating 50 Years of Learning and Faith for Life
This year marks a truly special milestone for our school community — 50 years of education, friendship, and achievement.
Since opening our gates in 1976, our school has been a place where young people have been nurtured, talents encouraged, and lifelong memories created. Generations of students have walked our corridors, each leaving their own unique mark on the story of our school.
Over the past five decades, we have seen many changes — new buildings, evolving technologies, and innovative teaching practices — but what has remained constant is our commitment to providing a caring, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
We are incredibly proud of our rich history:
- Thousands of students educated and inspired
- Dedicated staff who have shared their passion and expertise
- Strong partnerships with families and the wider community
- Academic, sporting and creative achievements
Traditions that continue to bring us together
To celebrate this golden anniversary, we will be hosting several events throughout the year, including a 50-Year Celebration Mass and School Performances.
This year we will honour the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to an exciting future.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Your support, pride, and connection to our school have helped shape the vibrant community we are today.
Here’s to the next 50 years of learning, faith, and fun!
Happy 50th Anniversary to our wonderful school!
2026 School Theme – “Rise and Shine”
This year, our 2026 school theme is: “Rise and Shine.”
Our theme encourages all members of our school community to start each day with a positive mindset, a willingness to try their best, and the confidence to let their unique talents shine.
“Rise and Shine” is about more than just waking up in the morning — it’s about:
- Rising to challenges with courage
- Shining through kindness and respect
- Rising as learners who never give up
- Shining by celebrating each other’s successes
- Rising to be responsible members of our community
Throughout the year, students will engage in activities, classroom discussions, and whole-school events that reflect our theme. We will recognise students who demonstrate resilience, positivity, leadership, and a commitment to doing their personal best.
Our goal is to empower every child to:
- Believe in themselves
- Support their peers
- Take pride in their learning
- Let their light shine both inside and outside the classroom
We look forward to seeing our students “rise” to new opportunities and “shine” in their achievements as we journey through an inspiring year together.
Let’s make 2026 a year to Rise and Shine!
