Try-a-Trade

Bricklaying and Carpentry

This week a group of Year 10 students attended Skill Hire in Forrestfield for a Try-A-Trade in Bricklaying and Carpentry. This is funded by the Construction Training Fund (CTF) and Skill Hire provide the trainer. An excellent experience for the students and some good skills were on display as can be seen in the photographs and videos.

How do our lungs work? What does a virus look like and how does it impact our bodies? Kids can discover the answers to these questions and more at our upcoming school holiday workshops! 

 

Scitech is excited to be back, every weekday during the holidays, giving kids the opportunity to get hands-on for a range of science and health related workshop topics including the return of fan favourites ‘Poo and You’ and ‘Ear Explorers’. Enjoy all things gooey and slimy whilst learning first-hand about the inner workings of our bodies - there’s something for everyone to love.

 

Each workshop runs for 1-hour and costs $22 per child ($15 for Scitech members). Plus, each workshop booking gives you access to Scitech’s interactive exhibition space perfect for you to explore before or after your workshop.

Academic Task Force

For Year 11 and 12 students who would like additional support before their exams, Academic Task Force has programs to help your students increase their confidence and boost their exam results including:

  • 1 day Exam Boost Workshops on weekends in Term 3 and 4
  • 10 hour Revision and Exam preparation programs in the school holidays.

ATAR Year 11 & 12 Exam Boost Workshops provide: 

  • Strategies and problem-solving methods to boost exam performance.
  • Practise answering REAL exam style questions.
  • Guidance from highly qualified and experienced exam markers.
  • A course workbook to help students revise at home.

Venues : Churchlands SHS, Rossmoyne SHS, Perth Modern School or online.

  • Comprehensive revision of Semester 1 & 2 content.
  • Increase students' confidence to maximise their performance.
  • Guidance from a highly qualified ATAR subject-specialist, ready to help answer questions.

All this in a small group to allow the flow of ideas, feedback on work and opportunities to ask questions.
