Williamstown Campus News

Dear Williamstown Families,
It has been a busy and positive start to Term 3, with students already embracing a wide range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.
Year 9 City Experience
Our Year 9 students have now completed their City Experience program. Throughout the week, students developed their independence, confidence and teamwork as they navigated Melbourne and participated in a wide range of educational and cultural activities.
It was wonderful to see students positively representing the College while exploring important Melbourne landmarks and learning more about the city. The Amazing Race was a particularly enjoyable way to conclude the program, with students working together to locate landmarks and complete challenges across the CBD.
Thank you to Ms Tancredi for her organisation and leadership of the program, as well as all staff who attended and supported students throughout the week. Thank you also to our families for helping students arrive prepared and on time each day.
Further communication regarding the activities postponed due to industrial action will be provided later in the term.
Anjo-Higashi Senior High School Visit
It was a pleasure to welcome students and staff from our sister school, Anjo-Higashi Senior High School, to the Williamstown Campus.
Our welcome assembly provided an opportunity for the Williamstown Campus community to formally greet our visitors and celebrate the long-standing relationship between our schools. It was wonderful to see our students actively participating in the visit and helping our guests feel welcome.
A sincere thank you to all families who hosted a visiting student and actively engaged in the exchange program. By opening your homes, including students in family activities and sharing Australian life and culture, you provided our visitors with an unforgettable experience.
Our partnership with Anjo-Higashi continues to thrive because of the generosity, hospitality and enthusiasm of our host families. Thank you for helping strengthen the cultural connections that make this exchange program so special.
Ramp Works
The bulk of the ramp works at the Williamstown Campus is now almost complete, with some minor works expected to continue over the coming week.
We thank students for their flexibility while access to some areas of the school has been restricted. Students have responded responsibly, followed safety directions and adapted well to the temporary changes around the campus.
Attendance
We were extremely pleased that more than 50 per cent of students at the Williamstown Campus achieved attendance above 95 per cent during Term 2.
Regular attendance is one of the strongest foundations for student learning, wellbeing and connection to school. Every day at school provides students with opportunities to engage in learning, maintain positive relationships and remain connected with their teachers and peers.
Thank you to our families for supporting students to attend school consistently and arrive on time. We encourage everyone to continue this excellent work throughout Term 3.
