Paisley Campus News

Dear Families,

It has been a busy and positive start to Term 3, with students already embracing a wide range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Aron Mifsud, who has joined the Paisley Campus teaching Health and Physical Education. I would also like to wish Emma Taig all the very best as she commences leave for the remainder of the year.

Work Experience

It has been wonderful to see our Year 10 students participating in Work Experience. These placements provide valuable opportunities for students to explore potential career pathways, develop workplace skills and build confidence in professional settings. We thank our local employers and families for supporting students throughout this important experience. Thank you to Ms Maver-Baxter for her support of this program.

Year 10 student, Eman, had the opportunity to undertake work experience at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital. This opportunity gave provided insight into working in a hospital environment and reinforced their interest in a healthcare career.

Eman observed a range of allied health professionals work together to help patients recover, showing me the importance of teamwork and communication. It was an amazing opportunity to learn from experienced healthcare professionals and see the positive impact of their collaboration on patients every day.

Girls in Physics Breakfast

On Friday 24 July, eleven senior students attended the annual VicPhysics Girls in Physics Breakfast at Kensington Town Hall.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to hear from professionals working in a wide range of careers where physics plays an important role. Through engaging presentations and conversations, students gained valuable insight into the many pathways that studying physics can lead to and the diverse opportunities available to young women in the field.

The breakfast also provided students with the chance to connect with like-minded peers and industry professionals, helping them begin to build networks that may support future study and career aspirations. Most importantly, hearing the inspiring stories of successful women in physics broadened students' perspectives and highlighted the exciting possibilities that physics can offer beyond the classroom.
