Principal's News

Dear Families & Friends,

It has been a fantastic, action-packed two weeks at Trinity with the absolute highlight being our first Whole School Athletics Day at Collingwood Athletics Track. It was wonderful to see students from Prep right through to Year 6 encouraging one another, giving their absolute best effort, and demonstrating great sportsmanship.

An event like this requires great teamwork and I would like to give a massive thank you to all our wonderful parent and family volunteers, our amazing Year 11 student volunteers from the Academy of Mary Immaculate and of course all the staff who helped run events, marshal students, and cheer from the sidelines. A special mention must go to our fantastic Sports Teacher, Mrs McLeary. Her exceptional organization ensured the entire day ran smoothly and successfully. Thank you, Mrs McLeary, for creating such a memorable experience for our students. To top it all off, the weather finally turned out to be just perfect after so many rainy days.

Book Week & Book Fair

We are looking forward to celebrating Children's Book Week 2026 , A Symphony of Stories at Trinity Primary School!

Before Book Week begins, our Book Fair will be held in the Library from Friday the 14th of  August to Wednesday 19 August. The Book Fair will be open before school, after school, and during the first break, and will be run by Ms Shaw. It's a wonderful opportunity to purchase some fantastic new books while supporting our school library.

Book Week celebrations will then take place from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August, with a range of exciting activities for students and families:

  • Monday 24 August: Book Week Launch at Assembly
  • Tuesday 25 August: Read With Me – Families are invited into classrooms from 3.00 pm to enjoy a book together before home time.
  • Wednesday 26 August: Book Week Parade at 8.45 am – Families are warmly invited to join us as students (and family members!) dress up as their favourite book characters.
  • Thursday 27 August: Decorated Door Voting – Families are invited from 8.30 am to walk through the school and vote for their favourite classroom door display.
  • Friday 28 August: Book Week Assembly – A special celebration to conclude an exciting week of reading and creativity.

We can't wait to celebrate A Symphony of Stories with our Trinity community and share another wonderful week celebrating the joy of reading!

Term 3 Learning Overviews

Last week Term Learning Overviews were sent home via Nforma. If you have not had a chance to look over these I have included them again below.

School Census

The Australian Government Department of Education would like to advise all staff, parents, guardians and students that it will collect certain information about your school, its staff and student body as part of the non-government schools census collection and special circumstance applications.

How and what information is collected for the census?

Census information is provided to the department by your school’s legal entity (the approved authority) via the Education Funding System (EFS). The census provides information about your school and the number and characteristics of the school’s staff and student body during a specific reference period. Information and characteristics collected through the census include:

• teaching and non-teaching staff

• students’ year level and workload

• students’ gender and age (as on 1 July 2026)

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students

• students with disability • students receiving distance education

• day, boarding and overseas students.

The names of students and staff are not collected, apart from the name, position and contact details of the staff member nominated as the primary contact for the census.

See the full Privacy Collection Notice in the attachment below.

Building Update

Two of our senior classes, 5/6FA & 5/6JM have temporarily moved into our newly refurbished classrooms downstairs. These modern learning spaces look fantastic, and the students are already settled and thriving in their new environment. Meanwhile, construction continues upstairs on our long-awaited school lift which will make a huge difference to us.
