Production Costumes and Props are here!
Now it seems like it's happening! "The truckies" have now collected the main cast and Grade 5 costumes plus back drops and sets for "Little Mermaid Jnr" the whole school production. Students had fun getting into character and trying on costumes ready for program photos this week.
Disco Fun!
Thank you to the staff and parents who assisted at the school disco. The students had the best time having fun and dancing with their friends. Thanks to Footsteps for playing the music and creating the vibe!
"For the Love of Science"
On Monday the 3rd of August all Foundation students took part in exciting incursion run by ‘For the Love of Science’.
Students had a ball taking part in a variety of interactive chemistry experiments!
John Monash Science School
Four Year 5 students have been participating in the John Monash Science School Robotics Spike Primary Program, where they put their STEM skills to the test! Working collaboratively, students designed, built and programmed a robotic vehicle to complete a series of challenges using motors and sensors. Throughout the program, they developed their problem-solving, critical thinking and coding skills while exploring real-world engineering concepts.
Collingwood AFLW Players Visit
On Wednesday, 5th August, our Year 6 students welcomed players from the Collingwood AFLW program to Camelot Rise Primary School for an engaging and inspiring presentation.
The players shared their personal journeys to elite football, speaking openly about the dedication, perseverance, and commitment required to compete at the highest level. Students gained valuable insight into the importance of training preparation, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and setting goals to continually improve both on and off the field.
The presentation also focused on leadership, with the players discussing the qualities of effective leaders and the importance of supporting teammates, communicating positively, and leading by example. They spoke honestly about the highs and lows of their football careers, including overcoming setbacks such as injuries, selection challenges, and disappointment, while celebrating the rewards that come from resilience, teamwork, and hard work.
Students were engaged throughout the session and enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about life as an AFLW player. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for our Year 6 students to hear how determination, resilience, and a positive mindset can help them achieve their goals, both in sport and in everyday life.
We sincerely thank the Collingwood AFLW players for taking the time to visit Camelot Rise Primary School and for sharing their experiences with our students. Their stories were both motivating, and we appreciate their contribution to our school community.
