Performing Arts-Lyneham High School Band Concert

On Thursday the 20th August we were incredibly excited to have the Lyneham High School Concert Band from Canberra visit and entertain us with an engaging and impressive performance.  The band has been visiting Fitzroy in a tradition that stretches back many years, for some of the older students it was the third time they have experienced a visit.   

Young and young at heart were delighted with renditions of songs from Moana, How To Train Your Dragon, an 80s medley and the Bluey Theme song. 

All the students listened attentively while some of the year 9 and 10 band members demonstrated their instruments and their place in the orchestra. The audience was wrapped when some of the Fitzroy Primary students were also invited to conduct the band and others assisted the percussion section for AC/DC’s Back in Black. 

We look forward to having Lyneham High School Band back again in a few years time!
