Sophie Kurzman (2020) Oceania Lawn Bowls Championships
Congratulations to past student Sophie Kurzman (2020) who was part of the Australian Lawn Bowls team who competed in the Oceania Lawn Bowls Championships in New Zealand.
Australia took the overall win for the Championships with Sophie playing a pivotal part in Women’s 4’s and Women’s Pairs events.
In the Women’s 4’s event team Australia missed out on winning the Grand Final 2 shots to 15 shots against a strong Aotearoa Māori team to finish runner up!
In the Women’s Pairs some very tough competition from the New Zeeland region saw Sophie and her partner Samantha Atkinson finishing in 4th place.
Australia won the overall aggregate of events to be declared champions of the event!
Well done Sophie on these amazing results and achievements. We look forward to seeing more Australian success in the Lawn Bowls from you soon.
