Anti-Vaping
Health Promotion
Towards the middle of Term 3, Year 10 students Charlotte P and Kai D responded to the challenge to create some anti-vaping material. Funding was provided by Ballarat Community Health Centre.
The girls did some research about the impact of vaping on health and social lives and also looked at pro-vaping and anti-vaping material to inform their work.
After several ideas were thrown around – tee shirts, poster, badges, video – the girls decided to concentrate on badges, with posters always a backup.
Over time, 7 designs were created and sent to a commercial printer for the badges to be made. The girls also designed cards for some of the badges to be attached to – with 4 different jokes, as well as a message about seeking help. One poster was also created.
Badges are available from the Front Office and Student Wellbeing Centre at Ballarat High School, at Ballarat Community Health – Lucas and also at Headspace.
Thanks are extended to Alex Bell at BCHC -Lucas for her encouragement and support.
