Eclipse House News

It has been a fun and exciting start to the year up in Eclipse. As with last year, the inclusion of the Year Nine students has brought a noticeable amount of energy, and at times, noise, to the house. While there is still some room for improvement around routines, this group has settled in extremely well and already seems to be making the most of their move up to Eclipse House.
The Year Ten cohort has also hit the ground running. It has been great to see their growing sense of responsibility and the development of their general routines, which has contributed to a very positive start to the year.
The Year Eleven group has made a smooth transition to the senior corridor and appear to be enjoying their new location within the house, along with the small extended privileges that come with it.
It is also incredibly refreshing to have a strong number of Year Twelves in the house this year. The leadership they demonstrate through their actions can be incredibly powerful for the younger students, even with their mass exodus on weekends and the added freedom that comes with many of them now having their licences.
Week One began on a cheerful note with a string of celebrations. We had Tristan Harris’s birthday on the Tuesday, Luke Altham’s on the Wednesday, Kade and Jai Waterman on the Thursday, and rounded out the week with Zane’s birthday on the Friday. It made for a very enjoyable week filled with celebrations in the house.
Sport is well and truly back up and running, with many of the boys out for training at various times during the week. We have also begun our Country Week trials, which have seen plenty of the boys out early in the mornings taking part.
Some of the highlights so far have been the All‑In weekend, where all the boarders had the opportunity to head to Wild West Bowling; the Year Twelve Ball, a nice change seeing Eden, Pat, Lucas, Henry and Zane all dressed up and looking the part; and Craig taking on lead vocals at the school assembly.
