What's Been Happening in Year 4

On Monday, the 14th of October and Thursda,y the 16th of October, the Year 4 students went to Polly Woodside in South Wharf. We learnt about different explorers and their expeditions around the world. We got the chance to explore life on a ship and complete some sailor tasks. A cool fact we learnt was that the Polly Woodside ship was sold for 1 cent in 1968. We had an amazing day and learnt so much. 

What's Been Happening in Year 2

The Year 2 students have been learning about the Solar System in Inquiry. 

On Tuesday the 14th of October, the Year 2 students made their way to IMAX to watch a movie called A Beautiful Planet in 3D. 

When we arrived, we had our snack before playing on the playground, then we excitedly made our way to IMAX. When we all put on our special 3D glasses, everything looked like it was popping out of the screen! It felt like we were really flying through space. We saw Earth, the Moon, the Sun, and some of the planets spinning and orbiting in the Milky Way Galaxy. We even learnt about another planet 500 light years away that could be like Earth!

The movie followed real astronauts who live and work on the International Space Station. We learned how they eat, sleep, and exercise in zero gravity. We also saw how they look down at Earth from space and study the changes in our planet. It was amazing to see what Earth looks like from space.

The movie helped us understand that Earth is very special, and we all have to work together to take care of it by protecting our environment and keeping our planet clean.

We all had such a fantastic day!
