Ken Harrison AM, KSJ, MBA (Hons Melb) B Bus FASCPA - Commitee Chair

Ken is an accountant and businessman who is active in a number of philanthropic pursuits, including Prince’s Trust Australia, Barwon Health Foundation, Monash Health Foundation, as well as several other foundations. He was awarded AM in 2016 for community and philanthropic services and KSJ, Knight of St John of Jerusalem in 2019 for services to the poor. 

 

Scott Diamond - College Principal

Scott has been the college principal at Northern Bay College since 2022. Scott has been a teacher since 1997 and a School Principal and Assistant Principal from 2005. Scott is a strident advocate of public education and is committed to ensuring that students at Northern Bay College are afforded positive and engaging learning opportunities that will set them up for prosperous and fulfilling lives after school. Scott believes the best thing about the Northern Bay College community is the strong sense of gratitude and generosity that is present across all stakeholder groups that are part of the school community.

 

Keith Fagg  OAM  B. Ec. (Hons) MAICD

Before joining the family business in 1984, Keith worked in various research and business administrative roles after completing university studies. As a director of Fagg’s Mitre 10 for the next 30 years, Keith expanded the business and was responsible for retail operations, staff management and marketing. Keith has been and is involved in many community organisations and served as Geelong’s first directly elected Mayor 2012-13. Keith is also a nationally accredited mediator and has worked with the Department of Justice in this role since 2007. 

 

Fred Clarke

Fred was the foundation college principal of Northern Bay College (NBC). He retired four years ago and is working for Monash University leading school reviews across Victoria. He is also contracted by the Department of Education to mentor new and experienced principals and to support hard to staff schools.

The concept of the Northern Bay Challenge grew during his time at NBC, and he is pleased this initiative is continuing in an endeavour to make education and employment achievable and successful for all students who attend the school.

 

Doctor Mark Kennedy (MB,BS, BMedSc (Hon), Grad Dip Fam Med, Grad Cert Man, Grad Cert Int. Med., GAICD)

Mark has been a general practitioner working in the Corio area since 1989. He has been involved in many community organisations in that time and has run several medical clinics in the area. He continues to teach doctors locally and internationally and holds an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor position at the University of Melbourne and a teaching appointment at the University of Warwick. He is currently completing a Masters of History through the University of Limerick. Mark joined The Challenge Committee in the early days along with Fred Clark.

 

Kerry Woodman 

A 30-year member of the Kardinia Rotary Club - which supports the Northern Bay College Family Learning Centre, Early Learning Centre and numerous college annual awards, Kerry is also a retired accountant.

He is a past member and Chairman of the Sacred Heart College Council, past member and Chairman of the Sacred Heart College Scholarship, committee member and current Treasurer of Humans in Geelong Inc. Kerry is a proud, supportive and active member of The Northern Bay Challenge.

 

Jarrod Zdrzalka

Jarrod has been employed for nearly two years as a Wellbeing Coordinator at Northern Bay College.  He finds his work very rewarding supporting students from a diverse background, while fostering positive relationships and connections.  He works closely with college leadership and teaching staff to achieve positive solutions for the students and the school community.  

Before this role, Jarrod worked as a Youth Development Officer at City of Greater Geelong & Surf Coast Shire across 14 years, with Team Leader appointments managing teams. He has also worked for a Geelong youth homelessness organisation, and within the outdoor education sector in Australia and overseas. Jarrod has held numerous roles at Mountain Bike Australia, with a highlight appointment as the National Downhill Coach to take the Australian team to World Championships. 

 

Ken Massari 

Ken is the College Assistant Principal overseeing Student Enrichment and Community Partnerships. Ken is a proud Alumni, having attending Corio South Primary School, Corio Tech and Corio North High School as a secondary student.   He was the Principal of North Shore Primary School for four years (2007-2011) leading into the formation of Northern Bay College.  In 2011, Ken was seconded to the Australian Government as a Policy Advisor for Minister of Education Peter Garrett before returning to Northern Bay College and becoming the Goldsworthy Campus Principal from 2012-2020.  Ken has strong beliefs and practices in the development of mutually beneficial community partnerships and has supported the individual positive pathways of students into employment and further education, accessing scholarships into, through and beyond Northern Bay College and is proud of the number of first in families to complete Year 12 and enter university and work which proves to be life-changing for our students and their families.
