Graduating Scholarship Students - Year 8

Our recent Northern Bay College Year 8 graduations not only celebrated the completion of Junior Campus education for our Year 8 students, but it marks the end of our NBC Year 7&8 scholarship for sixteen of our Year 8 students.  It was terrific to see many of the 2022/23 cohort receive awards showing that their potential identified during their Year 6 studies has blossomed.  This group of students featured in sporting, academic, the arts and science and technology awards and also captured some of the recognition for leadership.

Scholarship Students Entering Year 8 in 2024

For the twenty-eight students in the 2023/24 cohort, we have seen the benefits of aligning the pillars of the scholarship with the College’s high-profile programs of SEED (Sport, Physical Education and Health) and Impact (The Arts) and the Science Maths and Technology Club (Science and Technology).  With teacher shortages being more evident, finding tutors for our academic scholarships has proven difficult and will be a priority for this group in 2024.  We will be engaging in community activities next year including with Deakin University and the Gordon TAFE as well as seeking opportunities to promote our student leadership and voice.

2024/25 Scholarship Recipients

During the middle of 2023, twenty-two students were identified to become our 2024/25 cohort of Year 7&8 NBC Scholarship recipients.  The Celebration Morning Tea for this successful group of students has been held back to coincide with the opening of the new buildings at the Goldsworthy Senior Campus of Northern Bay College during Term 1 2024.  It was felt that it would signify the high quality facilities and programs that our students will be moving into beyond their scholarship years.
