Liturgy
On Wednesday, 5th June, the Stage 5 and Stage 6 students came together to celebrate the School of Entrepreneurs' liturgy. The theme of this liturgy was perseverance in the face of hardship. As students are facing their HSC courses and other studies, they were able to reflect on how hardship is an opportunity to meet Christ. Students listened to the story of Saint Monica, who faced great difficulties in her life and how her prayers were answered. We thank our Stage 5 and 6 readers who carried out a seamless liturgy. We also thank our musicians who helped bring this liturgy to a magnificent level of reverence.
Social Outreach
Today we began our support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Winter Appeal with a Pyjama/ mufti-day. All donations made through the QKR App will go towards assisting vulnerable members of the community, living without shelter.
Thank you for your generosity and support! We know that it will go a long way to assisting those in need!
Next week will see some of our year 10 students visiting residents of Catholic HealthCare (Aged care facility), to engage in games, activities and conversation. It is always a pleasure to see how our students engage with residents in the way Jesus taught us!
In the upcoming weeks, we will be making and donating sandwiches to be distributed through the Vinnies Van nightly service, and be hosting our Vinnies Winter Sleepout event. We invite students from years 9-12 to participate in our Sleepout event on Friday the 28th (Week 9). Students will need to register for the event if they would like to participate. Keep an eye out for communication regarding this!
All money raised through this event will also go towards the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Winter Appeal.

YCS @ St Luke’s: Transforming Faith into Action
This term, the YCS team members at St. Luke's have shown remarkable enthusiasm in transforming their 'Faith' into 'Action'. They have developed and delivered 'Mentor' session lessons for Social Justice Week, which took place in Week 6. Our team has grown significantly, welcoming nearly 10 new members, including students from Year 6. The students produced two VODCASTS on the theme of 'Social Justice'; one tailored for K-4 featuring images and GIFs, and another for our SoL/E. These VODCASTS highlighted the significant contributions of Sir Albert Einstein and St. Vincent De Paul to social justice.
Special thanks to all members of the YCS team, including the proactive Student Leadership Team and the Diocesan Youth Engagement Officer, Lauaki Masima, for their dedication and hard work.
In recognition of their efforts, the team members were recognised and were given special YCS Certificates in the Stage 5 / 6 Liturgy.

Good News:
I am thrilled to announce that Sudeep Velagapudi, a key member of our Leadership Team, has been recognised for his exceptional enthusiasm and dedication to both our local YCS activities and the National Team. The National YCW Team has acknowledged his tireless efforts, and I am proud to share that Sudeep, while still a student, has been appointed as a member of the Senior National Leadership Team, serving as the Secretary of the YCW National Team. This is a remarkable achievement, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sudeep. His leadership continues to elevate St. Luke's reputation in the wider community.
