Hey DSC Community,

Welcome to 2026! We just wanted to introduce ourselves as your 2026 Student Representative Council. You may have already seen us in action in 2026 with our annual Valentines Day postal service which had a record number of letters sent! But if not, we are all super excited to be part of your student voice and work on some really key focuses to benefit all of us as the community of DSC!

Before we get into our goals for the year, we wanted to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Heading our team this year, we have the newly introduced roles of SRC President, Lamar, and SRC Vice- President, Jordan. These presidents will also be working closely with the 2026 College Captains, Maya, Flick, Xin and Joe. Backing up our SRC Leaders we have 22 other leaders from years 8-12 (keep an eye out for mid-year applications Year 7s!)

For 2026, our SRC team has selected 4 key goals to focus on for the year, alongside other key events that will come up. These goals were chosen in our annual planning day which took place late 2025 and allowed us to choose areas of the school that as students, we wanted to make a change in.

Our Projects and Operations team will be focusing largely on the DSC community and road safety. Including things like road awareness and the 10c bottle scheme at DSC.

Our Academics team will be continuing some of the work done in 2025 surrounding the 5R model within our classrooms and also look at senior school assessment framework.

Our Community Outreach group will be focusing on SRC communication with the larger community, this will include things like the newsletter and our very own DSC Student Leadership Instagram page (if you don’t follow us yet, be sure to give us a follow at @dscleadership for all things student run!)

And finally, our Student Culture group will be focusing on within-school leadership, including staple events such as Open Night and Student Parliament Day.

We can’t wait to have a super successful year of student leadership again and can’t wait to represent you as your SRC! We also would love to hear from you if you think there is something that could tie in with our work!
