Competition Time

As part of the AFL Finals season, Nicole Werner invites you to take part in my 2026 Footy Fever Competition!

This year's challenge is for students to design what the electorate of Warrandyte’s guernsey might look like if we were playing in the AFL Grand Final. We can't wait to see the creative designs you come up with.

The competition is open to open to all primary and preschool students living in or attending a school in the Warrandyte electorate, and there are fantastic prizes to be won.

Competition Details 

• Competition opens: Tuesday, 1 September 2026
• Entries close: Friday, 25 September 2026
• Winners announced: 5 October 2026

Completed entries can be:

• Scanned and emailed to nicole.werner@parliament.vic.gov.au, or
• Delivered to her electorate office.

On behalf of the Office of Matt Gregg MP – Federal Member for Deakin to invite your school and its students to participate in the inaugural 2026 Deakin Christmas Card Art Competition. This is the first time Matt is running this competition, creating an exciting opportunity for young people across Deakin to showcase their creativity and imagination. The competition is designed to encourage students to express their ideas through art and celebrate the creativity of young people in our community. The winning artwork will feature on the front cover of Matt’s 2026 Christmas card, which will be distributed to constituents, community organisations, local leaders and other members of the Deakin community. The student whose artwork is selected as the winning entry will receive a $200 Visa gift card.  

Rules and entry requirements: The competition is open to students in Grades 1–6 attending primary schools across the electorate of Deakin. Students are invited to create an original Christmas-themed artwork on A4-sized paper. There is no specific design or artistic style required. Any suitable artistic medium may be used, including pencils, crayons, coloured pencils, markers or paint. All submitted artwork must be the student's own original work and should be appropriate for reproduction on a Christmas card. Identification: Please write the student’s full name, grade and the name of their school clearly on the back of the artwork. This will help our office correctly identify and contact the winning student. 

Key Dates and Submissions All entries must be submitted to the school by Monday, 12 October 2026. We will coordinate the collection of entries directly from participating schools following the closing date. Further details regarding collection arrangements will be provided closer to the submission date. We would greatly appreciate your school's support in sharing this opportunity with students and encouraging them to participate. We hope that this inaugural competition will provide an enjoyable and meaningful opportunity for young people across Deakin to showcase their artistic talents and contribute to something special for the local community.
