This week, we had a number of teams compete at the Knox Division Summer Sport Finals.
On Tuesday our boys Volleyball team competed and had a great day. We won our 3 pool games and unfortunately went down in a nail biter, 2 sets to 1 in the grand final. It was a bitter pill to swallow for the boys given the score in the 3rd set was 15-13, however they held their head high and walked off with smiles on their faces. Great effort boys, you should all be very proud to make it to the Division final! I’d like to thank Mr P for training the team at lunch time and Bec Little for assisting with transportation.
On Wednesday it was our Girls Softballers turn. I was really impressed with the girls’ positive attitude towards training, even having some of them borrow a glove to take home and practice their throwing and catching! The girls enjoyed a great day at Gilbert Park, finishing in 3rd place overall. Thanks Elisha McKernan for helping with transportation and coaching.
Thursday was the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Athletics Championships at Doncaster Athletics track. This year, Park Ridge had 7 students qualify across a number of events. Making it to Regionals is an outstanding achievement and all participants should be proud of their efforts.
