Religious Dimension

Welcome to Week 3
The Great Commission - Matthew 28: 16-20
He Qi’s artwork reflects the universality of the Gospel and Jesus’ message being shared with all nations and cultures.
In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus reminds His disciples and us that we are called to share God’s love with others through our words, actions and example. Even though some disciples were uncertain, Jesus reassured them with the promise: “I am with you always.” This passage encourages our community to live with faith, courage and kindness, knowing that God walks beside us each day.
Wonderings for Children
- I wonder how the disciples felt when they saw Jesus again?
- I wonder why some of the disciples still hesitated?
- I wonder how we can share Jesus’ love with others at school and at home?
- I wonder what Jesus means when He says, “I am with you always”?
- I wonder how we can be kind, brave and welcoming like Jesus asks us to be?
Wonderings for Families
- How do we help our children grow as disciples of kindness, faith and compassion?
- Where do we notice God walking beside us in our everyday lives?
- How can our family share hope and love within our community?
- What gifts has God given each member of our family to use for others?
- How can we live out Jesus’ message through our actions this week?
Perhaps this week, take a moment together to talk about one way your family can share God’s love with someone else.
Year 4 First Eucharist student reflections
My First Eucharist - Stella Boyd
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Went my buzzing alarm clock. “Ahh.” I yawned as got up out of bed and put my dog slippers on. I slowly walked down the stairs of my quiet house. My dad had made me a nice warm hot chocolate for my breakfast. Once my sister and my mum had come down the stairs and ate their breakfast we got ready for my sisters and my netball game. Forty five MINUTES LATER. HOORAY! I shouted when I got home from my game. I had a shower and put on the dress that I was going to wear to Eucharist. When we got to church we waited in the foyer for my Godmother Jo to arrive. We walked in and I walked to Grace to say hi and give her the present I made for her. All of the Eucharist students lined up in the Narthex and walked down side by side during the opening hymn. All of the Eucharist students went up first to receive the Body of Christ. When the mass ended my mum bought Gril'd and my sister and I got dressed in our pyjamas. We ate dinner and went to bed full of joy.
EUCHARIST - Evan Staszczyk
“Thump owww!” Today was the day it was going to be my first Eucharist. I flopped out of bed and ran down stairs to watch some TV and then I had some breakfast before soccer. We were played against the Boorandara Eagles and my family friend was in that team and luckily we won. After that I went home, had a shower and got into a suit. We hopped
into the car and drove to the church. When we got to church I sat in my seat for a while. Soon after we got into two lines at the Narthex and walked into our seats and sat down with our parents then I sat until it was my turn to read a prayer. After that I waited and waited and I got to receive the body of Christ and now I have received my first Eucharist. My first Eucharist was very special because I got to receive the body of Christ for the first time and it made me way more closer to Jesus.
