Electives 2026 - Subject Selection

As this process begins it is important that students take their time to carefully consider their options before making a final choice.

To assist students in making an informed choice take the time to read the following tips and advice: 


Upcoming Dates: Term 2 Compulsory Excursions:

 

GYC Individual Course Counselling - Friday 20 June

Year 10 students will travel to GYC Hobart campus for a one-on-one session to discuss course (subject) selection for 2026 with a member of the GYC Leadership and Teaching Team. This is a compulsory excursion for all students.

 

Following this excursion parents and carers are warmly invited to book to attend one of GYC’s optional upcoming Course Advice sessions should they wish further assistance.

If interested, book for a Glenorchy or Hobart session regardless of campus allocation. Bookings are essential.

Tasmanian Building and Construction Careers Expo

Thursday 31 July : Session 4 2.00pm - 5.30pm

Please note that Session 4 in the afternoon is the only session open to the public.

 

This FREE event offers a unique opportunity for students and parents to explore a variety of careers available within the building and construction industry, all on one site.
