Building Our Future Together: Strategic Planning at LNPS
Yesterday, staff participated in a Strategic Advance facilitated by Dr Neil Carrington, while members of the leadership team also engaged in a Strategy Masterclass focused on leadership, culture, and strategic planning.
These valuable learning opportunities provided important insights into how we can continue to strengthen teaching, learning, and school improvement for the benefit of all students.
A key message throughout both sessions was the importance of moving beyond simply managing learning to actively leading learning. This requires us to be reflective, evidence-informed, and purposeful in our decision-making, always keeping our vision, values and learners at the centre of our work.
Staff explored the powerful connection between school culture and school improvement. We reflected on the understanding that culture is not separate from strategy; rather, a strong and positive culture is a critical strategic pillar that drives meaningful and sustainable improvement. Discussions highlighted the influence every staff member has on the educational experience of our students and the importance of working together in high-performing teams to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The leadership team also examined effective strategic planning processes, including the importance of having a clear purpose, vision, values, and strategic priorities. We explored how successful schools use evidence, authentic feedback, reflection, and collaboration to guide improvement and create a shared sense of direction.
Importantly, this work will directly support the review of our current School Learning Plan and inform the development of our next Strategic Plan. Over the coming months, we will engage staff, students, families, and community members in conversations about what is working well, where we can improve, and what aspirations we hold for the future of LNPS. Together, we will identify the opportunities, challenges and priorities that will shape our next phase of growth.
As we look ahead, our focus remains on creating a school where every student can learn, grow and thrive. Through strong partnerships, shared leadership, evidence-informed practice and a commitment to continuous improvement, we will work together to ensure LNPS continues to provide outstanding learning opportunities for all students.
