Week 8 Update
The end of another term is fast approaching, and what a term it has been! Over the past 8 weeks, our students and staff have continued to impress us with their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning.
Classrooms have been filled with explicit teaching and learning, and it’s been wonderful to see students embracing challenges and celebrating their successes along the way.
Mid-Year Progress Reports
As we approach the end of the first semester, Mid-Year Progress Reports will be available for families from 12pm on Monday, 29th June. Reports will be sent via email and can also be accessed through the EMS Community Portal. If you experience any difficulties accessing the portal, please don’t hesitate to contact Vanessa on 8443 5544 for assistance.
These reports provide an overview of each student’s progress, highlighting their achievements, strengths, and clear next steps for growth.
When reviewing your child’s report, we encourage you to consider the Effort and Learner Qualities indicators alongside their academic Achievement. These aspects play a significant role in your child’s development and success throughout the semester and the school year.
We also recommend taking the time to discuss your child’s Student Comment together. This section is written by students themselves, reflecting on the goals they set in Terms 1 and 2 and the progress they have made towards achieving them.
Mirjana and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading many of these thoughtful student reflections and look forward to reading more in the coming weeks. It is always inspiring to see the goals students have accomplished and their plans for continued growth.
This process ties directly to our Learning Conferences, which are an essential part of supporting every student’s ongoing learning journey.
If you have any questions once you have received your child’s report, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
SA Primary Principals Conference
Last Thursday and Friday, I attended the SAPPA Conference as a SAPPA Board Member. The conference brought together educational leaders from across South Australia to explore key themes including wellbeing, inclusion, student engagement, leadership and high-impact teaching and learning.
The conference theme, "Yes, You Can...", challenged participants to think boldly about the opportunities we have to positively influence outcomes for students and school communities. Through presentations from leading educators and researchers, delegates explored evidence-informed practices that support student success and organisational improvement.
The learning and insights gained from the conference will help inform the development of LNPS's next Strategic Plan. As we begin reviewing our current School Learning Plan, these ideas will support discussions with staff, students and our community as we work together to shape a shared vision and priorities for the future.
Pupil-Free Days and School Closure
At the Governing Council on Monday night, the Council approved our Term 3 pupil-free day (PFD).
