LEAH SWANN, CLASS OF 1988 

Congratulations to Old Kilvonian Leah Swann (Class of 1988) on the release of her latest novel, Later, Only Love Remains.

Leah is an award-winning Australian author whose debut novel, Sheerwater, became a bestseller and won the Davitt Award for Best Debut Novel in 2021. Her work spans novels, short stories, poetry and essays, and she has built an impressive career as one of Australia's respected contemporary writers.

Reflecting on her time at Kilvington, Leah shared that the School fostered in her a love of learning and helped build the confidence that has sustained her throughout life and her writing career.

CHRISTINE BALINT, CLASS OF 1993

Congratulations to Old Kilvonian Christine Balint (Class of 1993) on the release of her fourth novel, A Single Witness.

Christine is an acclaimed Australian novelist whose work is known for its rich historical detail and compelling storytelling. 

Drawing on a remarkable historical trial uncovered in the Venetian archives, A Single Witness tells the story of Anna Maria Bonon, a 13-year-old girl from a mountain village who courageously took her father to court for sexual abuse in Venice in 1757—and won her case.
