Year 5 and 6 Changemaker Projects - Making a Real Difference

As part of our Senior Endeavour program last term, Year 5 and 6 students took part in Changemaker projects and the impact they made continues to be truly inspiring. As part of this learning experience, students were encouraged to research and select charities that were meaningful to them, often organisations that had supported people they love or causes they felt deeply passionate about.

Through their efforts of raising awareness and selling handmade products, our students not only developed a strong understanding of global and community issues but also demonstrated empathy, initiative and a genuine desire to make a difference. It was incredibly powerful to see them take ownership of their learning and channel it into positive action, raising a huge amount of funds for very deserving charities.

We are so proud to share that numerous charities supported by our students have reached out with messages of immense gratitude and appreciation. Their words highlight just how meaningful these contributions are and the real impact our students have had beyond the classroom.

Attached are a just a small selection of the notes we received from some of these organisations, expressing their heartfelt thanks to our amazing students. We hope you enjoy reading them and feel as proud as we do of the compassion and generosity shown by our young changemakers.

We are truly moved by the care, creativity and dedication shown by your students through their Changemaker projects. The effort that went into designing and hand-making products and bringing your community together for the Changemakers Market is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose.

Please pass on our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the students involved. They should be very proud of what they have accomplished - not only in raising funds, but in developing a deeper understanding of compassion, perseverance and the impact of collective action.  Your gift will ensure that when people are facing crisis, displacement, loneliness or loss there is someone there to help.
