Dear Families,

Welcome to the final newsletter for Term 1, 2026. Is it just me, or has this first term been a bit of a blink and you miss it moment? Only three more school days until school holidays, and we can reset and get ready for a bumper Term 2!

Last day of Term 1 and early finish

The last day of Term 1 is coming up: Wednesday 1st April. Don't forget it is a 2:30 pm finish. Our staff will be on-site on Thursday, 2nd April for a Curriculum Day. As a school, we are constantly undertaking professional development, and these student-free days allow the time for all teachers and staff to take part in more in-depth learning, which in turn facilitates better learning outcomes for all students. Our Patch will be opening early on Wednesday, and all day Thursday, for those who need to book in 'out of school hours' care. They also have their school holiday program running - you can see details further in the newsletter.

Parent Teacher Conferences

The end of term is always a great time to reflect on what we have learnt, and look forward to what our next goals are. Coming off our Achievement Week, our teachers are really looking forward to meeting with families to work through their students' learning goals. This term the conferences are Tuesday 31 March, 3:30pm to 6:00pm, and Wednesday, 1 April, 2:40pm to 6:00pm (due to the early student finish on last day of term). By this stage every family will have been allocated a timeslot for a meeting if there wasn't a booking made previously. Please make sure you check Compass and your emails to confirm your time slot, and if you are unable to make it, contact the office to rearrange (or do so on Compass). We have seen the success over many years in our community, showing how powerful the home and school partnership is to helping every student achieve excellence.

Looking forward to Term 2

The first couple of weeks are jam-packed (would we have it any other way?). After two days back, our Grade 5/6s head off to school camp for the first time! We are so excited to have our biggest ever group of students heading to Lyrebird Park Camp in Yellingbo, about 50km east of the city. The competition amongst staff to join the students has been intense, with staff well aware of the fun and excitment camps can offer.

We also have the annual Albanvale Athletics Carnival on Wednesday, 29 April. It's one of everyone's highlights of the year, and I'm sure this one will be no different. This event is open to our families and friends to spectate, so if you are free, we'd love to see you at the Keilor Park Athletics Track, cheering us on.
