Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

We’ve had an action-packed start to Term 2. Last week we sent a team of students to the Division lawn bowls competition (with great success!) and also held our Cross-Country Race at North Gardens on Thursday. It was great to see so many parents and carers come along to be a part of the cross-country. What was even better to see was the resilience, care and effort shown by the students throughout the event. So many “personal bests” and students supporting each other.

This week we started off with African Percussion Workshops (lots of sore hands!), our Foundation and Year 5/6 Swimming Program started yesterday and wedged in the middle of that was our spectacular Mathemon Maths Celebration. The students had a WONDERFUL time solving fifteen challenges around the school to earn their Pokemon Trainer status. Again, I’d like to thank the parents and carers who were able to come along a be a part of this. There was a wonderful energy around the school.

Lastly, just a reminder that Monday is a Pupil Free Day (4th May), with all staff taking part in professional learning. This will mean that the phones will not be manned for much of the day, as our office staff will also be undertaking this professional learning.

I also wanted to let parents know in advance, that there is another planned STOP WORK for Thursday 21st May as part of the ongoing industrial action by AEU members. I do not yet know the extent of this action and which classes this will impact, but I wanted our families to have the heads-up, as notification for this is not possible until 48 hours before the day.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and until I see you in person, take care.

Regards,

David
