THE GOLDEN RUBY

There was a buzz as a bee landed on a cherry blossom from the cherry blossom tree. People would come from all over the world to watch this tree, for legend says, she was once magical.

One day the tree decided to give the world a gift of magic…..The Golden Ruby. This would enable its owner to have a single power for themselves.

An evil queen called Misery who lived at the top of devil mountain found out about this powerful remnant of magic and wanted to use its power for evil and to make bad things happen.

“Once I get that Ruby, I will finally rule the work”, she thought. The whole village will bow at my command”. Meanwhile a girl called Emmaline and her brother Jack were walking through the woods.

Emmaline saw a shimmer of light, The Golden Ruby. The children did not know of its amazing powers, and they thought it was just a beautiful rock. They decided to take it home to put on their bedside table. Soon queen Misery found out that the two children had the Ruby. They are no match for my powers, she cried, and with a bolt of fire she was gone.

It was midnight and Jack was the only one awake. He heard an evil cackle in the night. The queen appeared in the room and took the Ruby. “Hey that’s ours!” he yelled. “You don’t know of its powers”, screeched the queen. Jack grabbed the ruby and to his surprise, the queen fell back.

“I must have strength power”, said Jack, as the evil queen fell out of the window under his command. In the morning Jack woke Emmaline and told her about what had happened.

That very day they went to the beach. Jack got in the water and soon found that he couldn’t touch the sandy floor of the beach.  “Help!” cried Jack. Only Emmaline heard but she didn’t know how to swim.

The Golden Ruby glowed inside her pocked and pushed Emmaline into the water she had never swam so fast and soon reached Jack. “You’re so fast”, said Jack. Soon they were back at shore. “I must have water powers”, exclaimed Emmaline. She focused on the water and made a wave.

She gasped, “I do have water powers!” she cried. They had an amazing day with Emmaline making big waves for them to surf on. Jack could even do a loop the loop with Emmaline’s help. When they got home, they were exhausted. They soon fell asleep.

At one o’clock Emmaline was woken by a loud crow. “Be quiet Devila”, yelled a voice. I must be queen Misery, thought Emmaline. She got out of bed and climbed onto the roof, the ruby in her hand. On the top of the roof stood queen Misery.

“Give me that Ruby!” she screamed. “Never!” yelled Emmaline. Queen Misery pointed her wand at the Ruby but Emmaline broke her spell with a blast of water. The Ruby fell to the ground and they both ran to collect the Ruby.

Emmaline made the biggest wave ever and washed the queen to the other side of the roof. Emmaline used a bubble to stop the queen getting closer, but she couldn’t hold it much longer against the queen Misery’s powers. Just then Jack awoke.

He used his powers to help Emmaline. With their powers together it was too much for queen Misery. They blew her all the way back to Devil Land.

“Team work always wins”, said Jack. “But that wasn’t the last of that horrible queen”, smiled Emmaline. “She will soon be back”, they both said. They still keep the Ruby to this day having lots of fun with their powers.
