Dear Parents and Carers,

Last Tuesday Mrs Gordon, Mrs Wing and myself attended the launch of SCS new Strategic Direction where Danielle Cronin, Executive Director, delivered a shared vision for the future of Sydney Catholic Schools. “Magis” is a Latin word that means ‘the more’ or ‘the greater’. In the context of the new strategy, it drives us to deepen our work and purpose, expand our impact and elevate our excellence for each and every child.  "Magis 2033" invites us to look beyond what is easy or familiar and to ask how we can go deeper, do better and create the conditions for every student to flourish. It is an exciting time in our system as we work towards “Magis 2033”, helping us respond with confidence and care to the world our students will inherit.

Last week the Parent Rep group met to discuss our fundraising initiatives for the year. I thank those enthusiastic and supportive parents who turned up and are always so willing to pitch in and support the school. Please know that your involvement can make a real difference. When children see their parents volunteering or showing up at school events, they feel valued and motivated. Research consistently shows that students with engaged families develop stronger learning habits, improved social skills, and a deeper connection to their school.

We encourage all parents to take part in school events and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Your involvement directly benefits your child by:

  • Boosting confidence — children feel proud when they see their family supporting their school.

  • Strengthening learning — engaged parents often see improved academic focus and persistence.

  • Building social connection — students feel more secure and connected when their families are part of school life.

  • Creating shared memories — events become moments your child will remember long after the school year ends.

Every contribution, big or small, helps create a richer, more supportive environment for all students. Some of the events planned are:

Stay tuned for more details throughout the year. The next meeting will be held in Term 2 Week 5 - Thursday 21st May at 8:45am in the library.

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week this week and open our school up to prospective new students and their families for 2027 we remember the power of bringing God's love into everyday actions, love, and service. The themes that focus on prayer, friendship, family, service, and joy are true to what we are and what we believe in at Our Lady of Fatima.

We had many interested families visit our school this morning. Our Year 5 & 6 tour guides proudly showcased our school with conviction, spirit and confidence. What an amazing community we have created here in Caringbah!
