Southern Region Swimming Success
Congratulations to all our 41 swimmers who competed at the recent Regional Carnival. The students and school would like to thank Mrs Dellow and Mrs Shepherd for helping on the day.
Due to some great results Catherine McAuley were crowned Southern Region Champions. We also had 1 record broken - Lulu Eades Jnr Backstroke.
We had a number of champions on the day these included:
Age Champions
Senior Boys - Archie Eades
11's Boys - Henry Crump
Junior Girls - Lulu Eades
Runners up
Senior Girls - Sophie West
Jnr Girls - Lottie Baird
Senior Boys - Franklin Boucher
Successful swimmers will now venture off to Dubbo to compete in the Diocesan Trials. These take place on Tuesday 10th March.
A big thankyou must go to Mrs Livingstone for getting everything under control with these carnivals. Swimming and Athletics carnivals require a person to commit LOTS of extra time. Hours in fact. This year with even more difficulties with conditions, change in dates of carnivals, how close turnover has been from 1 carnival to the next, her efforts were amazing. To be able to even get our carnival completed with age champions, record breakers etc within a few days was incredible, especially with a full teaching load. So please if you are speaking to Mrs Livingstone you might just quietly give her a simple thank you. I know it would be appreciated
Winter Trials
On Friday we have over 20 students attending various Dio Winter Sports trials at Bathurst. We wish them all the best in this endeavor. Unfortunately Soccer has been postponed and parents should have received an email from Mr Maguire about the change it date.
Rugby 7's
Today we had 3 teams venture off to Orange Emus to play in the local Rugby 7's Regional competition. All 3 teams played with great skill and enthusiasm. Mr Bishenden and Mr Hudson would like to thank all parents who came and watched some wonderful rugby.
We were lucky enough to have two teams Waratahs and Reds reach the semi-finals. With the Waratahs not only winning the semi-final but defeating a very good Canowindra team to WIN the day. This means this team will now play in the regional finals later this term to see if they can qualify for the State Championships.
