Shroud of Turin Exhibition

We were honoured to host the Shroud of Turin Exhibition in Kenna Hall last Thursday and Friday. This was an amazing exhibition for our Year 5 and 6 students.

The exhibition included a 14-foot, life-size replica of the Shroud of Turin and a carefully prepared set of explanatory panels and resources that explore the history and scientific questions that surround the Shroud. Alongside the Shroud replica are replicas of the instruments used in Roman torture and crucifixion. The children completed lessons within their Religious Education classes where they discussed the Shroud replica and that of the other replicas. Whilst this exhibition was a little confronting, the children were very interested in seeing replicas of things used in the crucifixion of Jesus. This created a lot of discussion and understanding about the suffering that Jesus went through on his way to his death.
