Celebrating Friendship Day 

On Thursday, we enjoyed our colourfully bright Friendship Day, filled with activities celebrating kindness, inclusion, respect and positive relationships. Dressed in their most colourful outfits, students participated in a range of creative, collaborative and reflective experiences designed to strengthen friendships and help everyone feel connected and valued.

Students explored what it means to be a good friend through stories, discussions and writing activities. From creating class friendship books and friendship recipes to writing letters of appreciation, designing kindness chatterboxes and completing friendship comic strips, students reflected on the qualities that make friendships strong. Many classes also created special gifts, such as friendship bracelets, bookmarks, keyrings, and artwork, to share with classmates and buddies.

A highlight of the day was the STOMP Dance Company incursion, which encouraged students to work together, build confidence and celebrate friendship through movement and teamwork. Students also participated in collaborative colouring projects, compliment chains, friendship flowers, outdoor games, and buddy activities that promoted cooperation, communication, and a sense of belonging.

Friendship Day provided valuable opportunities for students to practise important social and emotional skills, including empathy, kindness, problem-solving and gratitude. Most importantly, it reminded us that small acts of friendship can make a big difference in helping everyone feel welcome, included and connected within our school community.
