Aaron Smith - Boort Tyre Service Structured Workplace Learning

I would like to sincerely thank Boort Tyre Service for supporting me through Structured Workplace Learning and for giving me the opportunity to complete my placement there.

During my placement, I gained a wide range of valuable skills and hands-on experience that helped me better understand the tyre and automotive industry. I learned how to safely and correctly use the machines and equipment in the workshop, including how to properly strip and fit tyres onto wheels. I have also been shown the correct techniques to complete jobs efficiently and safely, which helped build my confidence and practical skills.

Throughout the placement, I developed important communication skills by working closely with the team and interacting with customers. I learned how to speak professionally in a workplace environment, how to listen carefully to instructions, and how to work as part of a team. I also gained experience learning about call-out jobs and how to use the equipment and machines required for work completed outside the workshop.

I would especially like to thank Jesse, Corey, and Avon for the time and effort they put into teaching and supporting me during my placement. They were all friendly, genuine, and hardworking people who made me feel welcome from the very beginning. They were always willing to answer my questions, explain tasks clearly, and make sure I understood how to complete jobs properly and safely. Their patience and encouragement helped me improve my skills and confidence each day.

One of the most valuable parts of this experience is that it helped me gain a clearer understanding of the type of career I would like to pursue in the future. Seeing the day-to-day work involved in the industry and being able to take part in real workplace tasks gave me a better appreciation for the skills, teamwork, and effort required in this line of work.

Overall, this placement is a very positive and rewarding experience. It helped me improve my communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and practical skills while giving me real workplace experience that will benefit me in the future.
