STUDENTS

Uchral Tuvshinjargal & Mikiyas Muma

Recently we heard that scholarship applications for two of our students, Uchral Tuvshinjargal & Mikiyas Muma, had been successful. The scholarships were brought to our attention by our Youth Settlement Officer, Ayesha, and actioned and submitted by their teacher Terri Lambin; her initiative in this space proving successful for these students. Thank you Terri. Each of the students will receive  $3000 in both Year 11 and 12 from the YAL (Young Australia League). Students are not only provided the funding, but also wrap-around support. Every recipient is paired with a youth worker to work individually with that young person to achieve the goals they set for themselves. The young person is acknowledged as experiencing disadvantage but shows motivation and is driven to make something of themselves. These two young people definitely reflect this profile and are worthy recipients. Congratulations.

Karima Hussaini & Aster Asmamaw

Karima Hussaini and Aster Asmamaw have also both been told that they will receive a part scholarship - a laptop computer each and support from a Youth Worker to assist with their education.

Nargis Haidari

Congratulations to Nargis Haidari, who has officially graduated from her VETDSS AVI30219 Certificate III in Aviation (Cabin Crew), a qualification she completed as part of her Year 12 studies at North Lake Senior Campus. Nargis is already applying to airlines for cabin crew roles and has also been accepted into the Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service) for 2026. We’re so proud to see Nargis and her sisters, Raheela and Suriya (pictured), all following their passions and building bright futures following their time at NLSC.
