Meet the Board

How many years have you been a part of the MECS community? 

I was at MECS as a student from Prep to Year 12. I am a descendant of a founding family. I met my wife Chelsea at MECS, (there were 4 couples in our class who got married!)  

My kids are currently in Year 2 & 5.   

How long have you been on the MECS Board and what is your favorite part of serving on the Board?  

I have been on the Board since 2021. I love working with a team of like-minded people that have a heart for Christian education and building the MECS community. I love seeing opportunities to improve and grow MECS and to make it sustainable long term. 

If you could holiday anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why? 

Singapore - to watch the F1 Singapore Grand Prix. 

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why? 

King Solomon, I would like to glean from his wisdom and learn about how he built the temple. 

What AFL team do you support?  

Bombers (2026 will be our year!)

What do you love most about MECS?  

I love being part of a community that my family has been involved in since the start, where students are encouraged and nurtured to fulfill their God given purpose.

To quote Colin Youl - you can take the student out of MECS but you can't take MECS out of the student.
